Welcome to my blog. My name is Shelby. I am a recent alumni of Disney College Program. I had a blog talking about my experiences with Disney but I am off a new chapter of my life and with it, I am starting a new blog. Here I will talk about my experiences in life including real life relationship struggles and accomplishments, ideas that have worked and not worked for me, and some random posts here and there. So stay tuned! It is fair to include a disclaimer that this material will not be filtered nor monitored so please proceed with caution.
For those who have decided to live life on the edge and proceed, I applaud you! So, why should you read my blog? Well, I have to say, being in a relationship for four years and with the same guy since 2010 gives me a false sense of command. I like to believe I have been the one those frequently come to ask for advice. I have never been one to be shy or hold back on advice.
So who is Shelby? Well, like I said above, I am a recent DCP alumni. I worked at EPCOT in Walt Disney World at the American Adventure Pavilion. I was in Merchandise, so when you bought moonshine or t-shirts, you would bring it to me. I liked to tell people I was the face of America 🙂 I worked in other locations when I was deployed, too. So I was at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom on Main Street and I worked at ESPN during a marathon and I also was deployed to a few other spots in EPCOT including strollers, HOH, and towers. Within the seven months of my internship, I met so many wonderful people I call my friends and made wonderful memories that can never be replaced.
I am a super senior (fifth year) college student majoring in Biotechnology specifically in genetic diseases. I hope to graduate this May!! Finally. I love genetics and hope to find a career in a hospital researching genetic diseases. I have found a new love of writing when I started my DCP blog (also mentioned above), I have always loved writing but have a weird insecurity about people reading my work. The only people blessed with this were the SAT and college admissions guys. And when it was really good, my mom. After finally making my blog public, I have slowly started becoming more confident in what I write. It may be silly works, but it makes me happy.
I have a wonderful boyfriend Jared who is mentioned in a ton of my posts. He is my soul mate and we have been together for FOUR years. We went to the NCAA Final Four Championship game Butler vs UCONN in Houston for our first date and sat front row, it’s okay to be jealous. 😉 We have been inseparable ever since. We adopted our baby cat, Laurel, two October’s ago and we are just so in love with her….most days 😉
